Decided to listen to this one instead of reading and it worked so much better for me! The narrative style really fits the audiobook format. I think I enjoyed this more than the first book, I really appreciated the different POV.

My least favorite at the time I originally read the (then) trilogy, but when I went back and re-read the novel after the publication of The Other Wind my perspective changed to one that appreciated Tenar's story in a new light. In some respects, The Tombs of Atuan is key to what happens in the fourth and fifth novels of Earthsea, but can also be enjoyed for the tale it spins of Ged and Tenar all on its own.
