Batman - Cavaleiro Branco by Sean Murphy, Matt Hollingsworth

This is probably one of my favorite Batman stories, right up there with Killing Joke and Long Halloween. It's obvious that, like myself, Sean Murphy was a fan of the Batman animated series in the 90s. This book takes a closer look at Joker's relationship to Batman, as well as Batman's impact on the city of Gotham. I hope Curse of the White Knight is just as good.

A real interesting mix of 'what ifs' and reevaluations of some of the most popular characters in the DC canon. It's maybe the genuinely freshest take on the Joker/Jack Napier (and Harley Quinn. Do not forget Harleen) for years. Oh, and the artwork is simply to die for.
My only gripes are that the overwhelming message seemed to me to be that the police need to be armed more, and that
vigilantes like Nightwing and Batgirls should be cops
, which is questionable at best in my opinion. Still, if you can get past that, it's a solid bat-story.

I really enjoyed this comic! I liked how it focused more on the Joker and how roles were suddenly reversed. Joker, now sane, tries to prove that Batman is the real menace in Gotham. I liked how refreshing the story was, and all the twists and turns. I really enjoyed the art and storytelling and I'm looking forward to the other volumes!
