A classic for a reason! It’s a little juvenile but it’s supposed to be. Lots of heart. I’m gonna go read fan fiction about Dally and Johnny and wonder if the icon herself wrote it.

I‘ve watched the 1983 movie adaptation of this book a month ago (with my parents) and have since then wanted to read the book. Finally got to do so today and fuck yes it was a good time. I knew literally almost everything that would happen beforehand (bc of the extreme faithfulness of the full novel movie version) and still had a great time reading.

This book had me confused and conflicted about what the characters were thinking and why they made the decisions that they did. Particularly Ponyboy.

And I kind of spoiled myself by looking up clips from the film version, which was something I really should have avoided doing. 

But ultimately I felt that the ending saved it.
