Whilst the romance in this story stands alone, because of the overarching plot, this story is best enjoyed as the second in the series. Amethyst, the female witch lead, has discovered that demons are trying to kill her and her relatives and she returns home to research potential solutions. Dane, the male hellhound shifter lead, is assigned as her bodyguard but that quickly grows into deep feelings. Both of them didn’t expect to care for the other and neither is prepared for the vulnerability that creates, especially when demonic threats worsen.
This story is dual POV, well written and edited, and a great addition to the series and world.

I liked the story and I always enjoy when I already know the characters from previous books. Can’t wait for the next one…

I picked up this book because of how obsessed I was with the cover, what I did not expect was how much I enjoyed the story that was being told. It's so magical and mystical, all the things I'm obsessed with when it comes to books. The ending shook me to my core & I need to know what happens next because Amethyst's story has so much more to unpack. Loved this book!
