Really really enjoyed this book! It was quietly gripping and kept me waiting for certain plot points to unfold, since we know from the start of the book that Chrissie has killed a little boy, but no one else knows.
The story switches between past and present and I found myself enjoying both perspectives equally.

I know it's a DNF when I have to reread the same page over and over because my mind refuses to comprehend what I just read. If my mind refuses to focus on what I just read between 35 pages, then it's very telling how the rest of the book is gonna go.

I loved this book. It was brutally honest and scarily dark but written beautifully. Every chapter had me more gripped and I was hooked on following these characters through their heartbreakingly devastating lives. A fantastic psychological drama that I am kicking myself for shelving for so long. I wholeheartedly recommend this one.

Weird but good

This book was a bit terrifying at times but for some reason I understood where the author was coming from with Chrissie’s character. This book can show how detrimental not having a mother’s love can be.

I like the language that is used in this book. It’s quirky and it gives Chrissie/Julia a humorous, badass side. It’s a good book. I throughly enjoyed it!

This one is definitely a difficult read. I felt like I was on a rollercoaster going back and forth with whether I liked it or not. It is a very thought provoking and emotional read. There was one point I wasn't sure I'd be able to finish it but I'm so glad I did. It ended well and overall a very well written story.
