Ohne Band 1 gelesen zu haben, braucht man sich wirklich nicht an diesen Band wagen. Ich kannte Band 1 und war trotzdem am Anfang sehr verwirrt. Allgemein finde ich, dass am Anfang der Mangas alles etwas hektisch und verwirrend zugeht. Alex ist weiterhin auf der Suche nach ihrer Schwester und tritt nun der Nightschool bei. Die Charakterschwemme ist dabei wirklich nervig und man kommt kaum mit. Außerdem sind die meisten Charaktere wirklich unsympathisch. Zum Ende hin wird es dann wieder sehr spannend, aber aufgelöst wird wieder nichts. Wenn ich nicht schon Band 3 im Regal stehen hätte, würde ich hier wohl die Reihe abbrechen.
Der Zeichenstil ist das, was mich so an diese Reihe fesselt. Der ist ganz nach meinem Geschmack. Er geht schon eher in richtig Comic und es gibt ein paar Farbseiten. Die Linien sind klar und deutlich und mir gefallen die Charakterzeichnungen.
Ich würde die Reihe nicht wirklich empfehlen, aber aufgrund des wirklich schönen Zeichenstils ist es einen Versuch wert.

Realizing Sarah has gone missing, Alex heads to the Night School to get some answers. Only issue is that with all the security in place, her only option for finding the answers she wants is signing up as a new student. Having been homeschooled, entering this new world comes with a lot to navigate around while she still tries to find out just what happened to her sister.
I enjoyed a good chunk of this but sadly some of encounters with teachers just didn’t age too well for me. I still loved learning more about the magic and the hunters but the comments one teacher in particular made seemed rather rude, demeaning, and uncalled for. Hoping this isn’t the same for the remaining volumes.

This volume is more linear than the first one, with part of it being Alex's introduction to the Nightschool, and the second part focusing on action. It's still engaging, funny at times, and has great art.
(Grumble, grumble. The library doesn't have volumes 3 and 4 :/ )

I'm enjoying this story - my only problem with manga like this is that each book is so short and the story goes slowly b/c there isn't enough room for more.
