More of a pamphlet/self help guide than what I was expecting. The book didn't apply to me so I cant really rate it.

This was written in the 1980s and just didn't seem to apply to my situation.

This book changed my life the first time I read it. I’m the son of an alcoholic mom, and I’m an addict in recovery myself. At a few years sober, I still felt crazy and didn’t know why until I came across this book, and it gave me so many answers and tools.
It’s been years since I read this book, but I decided to read it again. Although I’m doing much better, the book pointed out some key areas I still need to work on.

This book really helped me a lot and it felt as if it were speaking directly to me and my experiences.

I think as long as you’re going into knowing this isn’t textbook how every child’s life is, it can be really great. I also read a bunch of the positive reviews and it makes me happy that people are feeling seen by it. I also did in parts, but a lot of it I felt like I’d also covered in therapy
