holy mind craze

This book was introductory and painful!! To see how it blends from early in life to current events is really interesting and I do enjoy it. There are so many questions that follow you from this and I can’t wait to read part 2. This has so much emotional turmoil that it takes you through a crazy journey.

The low rating wasn’t due to dark content but because while the characters felt compelling in the earlier chapters, the later chapters fell flat. It dragged in places and the FMC was just so naive despite having grown up around an MC. Nothing felt believable and there was soooo much under age grooming by villains and heroes alike. This wasn’t the gloriously dark and twisted that I love — it was grooming for abuse. Two stars because I’m hoping there’s a point to all of this…

I legit don’t even know where to start. Or how to review this without any spoilers. So, there may be some minor ones but I’m going to try and keep it vague.

I went into this blind and immediately got messages that these duet killed them and to reach out if I needed to talk. Naturally, this intrigued me further.

I know a lot of books say they’re taboo and dark, but heed the warnings y’all. I feel like I’ve been secondhand brainwashed and gaslit. Like, do I need to talk to my therapist about this??? I want to love the guys so much. And sometimes I do. But that’s how the abusers get ya.

I keep asking myself if there’s anyway that Shay is going to be redeemable, but I’m not so sure. And even though Keenan is the lesser of the two evils, this is still all sorts of fucked up.

I have some theories about … well, a lot of things. And I’m gonna need answers ASAP.

I have no idea how to rate this. I have no idea what I just read. It was dark, intriguing and disturbing. This book was so messed up but I’m rooting for Mina. My thoughts are jumbled and I need to seek therapy. Onto book 2.

i don’t really know how i feel about this book. the characters were frustrating and it felt like something was lacking overall. based on the non-spoiler reviews for part two, i have a good idea on what’ll happen so i won’t be continuing with this duet.
