disclaimer: I don’t really give starred reviews. I enjoy most books for what they are, & I extract lessons from them all. I hope my reviews provide enough information to let you know if a book is for you or not. Find me here: https://linktr.ee/bookishmillennial

This review is going to be short and sweet, which is wild because I usually do not stfu! Anyway, my mind is in a million places today but I do want to say that if you haven't read a John Green book yet, take this as your sign to do so! He is probably one of three cishet white men that I will read anything by him lol. The way he wrote the mental health representation here was beautiful, and I teared up a few times reading this. His writing and his characters are tender, flawed (as humans are), authentic, hopeful, and comforting. His writing is an example of young adult main characters getting their due and being portrayed in a respectful and compassionate way!

Cried all the way through but I knew I would. I know John Green has OCD and he’s done an absolutely brilliant job conveying exactly what it sounds like in my brain. I guess I just hope for me and for John and for Aza is that we all end up okay. I hope that’s not too much to ask.

I didn't have a good time with this. It was meandering and it didn't always seem entirely sure of what it was trying to say. The ending was very "love is the answer to everything" in a way that didn't seem to truly address most of what the rest of the book was about? And the characters were a bit insufferable.
