This book is magical. Not just because it takes place in a fantasy world with a fire-breathing dragon (which is magnificently written), but because it deals with depression and anxiety it a way that I haven’t seen before. Lauren’s main problem is that she doesn’t want to admit to anyone that she isn’t “fine” after ending a relationship that she had devoted five years of her life to and it’s now eating her up from the inside, and I think that not only will this resonate with anyone who has gone through a hell of a break-up, but also those who just feel the constant worry that their problems are not important enough to bother anyone else with.

I am glad for this books existence and I really think that by reading Lauren’s journey to discover that her problems ARE important can help other readers who are struggling with the same issue and make sure they know that they are not as alone as they feel.
