I liked how the story/universe in book 1 started so broad and narrowed down and seemed to become more personal with each successive book. Really interesting ideas and storyline. Highly enjoyed the series

An interesting conclusion to the series. I enjoyed this more than the middle installment. The introduction of the Presger translator in the second book gives an interesting outside perspective to the question of whether Breq has personhood, a question which has far-reaching implications. Also Seivarden and Breq have something of a breakthrough regarding their relationship, and there is a lot of cuddling. I do like a bit of cuddling.

A perfectly satisfying ending to this wonderful trilogy. Now, if we could only get a spin off with Translator Zeiat.

The end of a very enjoyable trilogy. Suspense throughout the book remains quite high until the very end. The stakes are higher!
There is good character development yet I feel that the ending was just ok. Looking back at it, the pieces were set for the ending, but I didn't particularly like the execution of it. Lecky is ex ellent at the slow burn and good at bursts of intense action. As a seasoned short story writer she doesn't use more words than necessary to bring across what she wants to say. I feel like she mistook conciseness with brevity on the ending and much like Breq, quickly slapped together a provisional way to end the story, which she then stuck to.
Everything up until the provisional ending is very good though. I would heartily recommend and I hope Lecky has managed to keep on honing her "conclusion-skills" with her next novels.
Things that I really liked:
- So much more Presger Translator goodness. A very fun character that adds much appreciated comic relief
- fleshing out AIs' personalities to a much further extent. Especially Sphene.
- Seivarden's dealings with addiction

I really liked the series apart from the end, can't wait to read more of her work

Sphene and Translator Zeiat and Breq and Seivarden and Tisarwat and Anaander and Kalr Five are my faaaaavorites I tell you, my faaaavorites. I can't remember liking the entirety of a book's characters so much.
