Nope, it probably is not what you expected!

Once I opened this book, I could not put it down. I wanted and needed to know what would happen next!

I love me a hardcore alpha hole MMC and Demon was just that throw in a lil psychotic and yea the perfect mix.

But then I met Smoke and was like, this man has all the BDE! The way chapter 40 ended, read it and tell me you didn't wanna stand up and dap him up!

Yes, this is a thick book but who cares there is enough story to keep you engaged the entire time. You get to watch Demon experience the love that he doesn't think he deserves or knows how to reciprocate and then realize how he shows his feelings even when he has never been taught how to.

Just read the book! You won't be disappointed

Now this was a good ass book!

Gripping storylines and characters that you either love or hate. I think this falls under urban romance but for me it had a bit of a contemporary feel because it was written so well.
On paper I shouldn’t have been rooting for the MMC but I was rooting for him from the very beginning.

I loved the character development.

Going on a journey with Demon, the MMC as he developed emotional intelligence and a softer, caring side gave me a feeling of joy. I was cheesing a lot.
We also saw the Castle sister’s go from being submissive daughter’s to women with a voice, which was nice.

The end wasn’t what I was expecting and don’t know if I loved it but I can see how it may be leading into a part 2.

Demon & Dream. Smoke & Dayana.

When I started this book, it felt like a 5 star read from jump! I immediately enjoyed being pulled into the world of Dream, Demon, Dayana, and Smoke. I was literally zooming through this book for like the first 500 or so pages but the last 200 just felt unnecessary.
There was “romance” but there was a lot of death, torture, killings, and  kidnappings. There were some really sad moments, too. There were a good bit of spicy moments in the book! I wish we got more from Dayana and Smoke but they weren’t the main characters so I guess that’s what it is.
I really enjoyed Demon and Dreams story. Dream was a great fmc. I felt I could relate to her and really helped keep me engaged in the story. Demon was Demon. I wouldn’t consider him boyfriend material in the least. He was a toxic man but sometimes toxic works. Lol.
I will say the whole Keith situation didn’t interest me and do anything for the storyline for me so that’s why some of the story dragged to me. I would’ve rather him not be in the book. His whole involvement was unnecessary.
All in all, it was a pretty good book. I’m not always the biggest fan of urban fiction but this one was pretty good. I will give a warning out that the “n” word was used heavily. And “the seed” talk is an idk for me but nothing to DNF over for me. Definitely check this out if urban fiction is your genre.

The fast-moving plot had me hooked. It took everything I had not to ignore my work and read instead. It was hard to ignore some toxic relationship dynamics, but they were acknowledged, which I appreciated.
