2 stars

It had my favorite tropes, but the direction and the writing, hmmmmm. Questionable, really. Often times I found myself embarrassed or cringing. I wasn’t a huge fan of it, and I’m disappointed. It had potential (really really so much) so I’ll give it two stars.

"Bree, hope is healthy. Even if you prepare yourself for the worst in life, it will never make the fall hurt less. So why not let yourself really and truly want this instead?”

I read the Q&A with Sarah Adams that was at the end of this book and I felt it offered a lot of insight into her version for The Cheat Sheet and I think she accomplished that.

This is a very, very sweet romance read featuring the fake dating trope and the friends to lovers trope as well.

I loved how Bree looked out for her dancers, that melted my heart. I also loved how freaking good of a person Nathan was and I did love their friendship a lot. The anxiety rep here was also handled with care as well.

Bree was giving me Hilary Duff/ Amanda Bynes rom com energy and even though this is technically a new adult book, it felt like older YA to me.

I had some issues that sadly didn’t make this a new fave but despite that I think this is a great place to start if you are interested in the friends to lovers trope.

3/5⭐️
