I was kind of disappointed that it was the exact same as was in the book.

Of all the Ever After High characters so far, Apple seems to be one of my least favorites. She just seems snobby.

"Snoozy! Snappy!" Apple called to her dwarf lackeys. "The first four trunks are ready to go. Would you be so kind as to carry them down? You, too, Pouty--don't you stick out that bottom lip, you silly."

"Apple's father stood beside his wife, one hand on his sword hilt, always ready to do battle--though of course he'd never actually done any battle. His claim to fame had been falling in love with a comatose girl inside a glass coffin. But he looked so regal with a sword."

I was actually pleasantly surprised by this prequel. After watching the show on Netflix, I assumed that this book series would feature shallow characters with an interesting twist on traditional fairy tales. I had fairly low expectations for this short little story, but it was actually quite good and a very quick read.
I liked the way Hale sets of the struggles of each character. The story gives a brief introduction of the character and inserts some of the initial conflict that comes later in the series. I especially liked how Hale addressed Apple's blonde hair, something that had been nagging at me while watching the show.
The descriptions in this story were very cool and often humorous, such as, "Her voice was high and a little squeaky, as if all that time spent lost in the woods with squirrels had taken its toll."
This was a good prequel for the series and I look forward to reading the actual Ever After High books.

Apple is probably my lease favorite of all the characters in the Ever After High universe so far. This short story was just the first chapter of the Ever After High novel so it does nothing to redeem Apple's character. Apple's character seems to be written more with marketing in mind than a story which I found annoying. Hale has plenty to say about anything that could potentially be a toy accessory such as her clothes, car, house, and "IMirror." However, more needs to be said to make Apple likable and give her character development so young girls will buy the doll and accessories. Just keep in mind when you read that you're being sold merchandise more than a story or you'll be disappointed with the story itself.

The last bits of the book might be the reason why she was so adamant of Raven not signing her destiny in the animated series.
Interested to see more of how Apple acts the way she does.

The story follows Apple white, the daughter of Snow White. The character of Apple white comes across as arrogant but I grow to liking her a bit by the end. We basically just see her getting ready and leaving to go to school (ever after high). There were some great little details making it very humorous and showing the modern world of the Snow White fairy tale story. For example she was listening to a band called One Reflection on her Mirrorphone and the song was called "you don't know your charming". This genuinely had me laughing out loud! It's a cute little "teaser"'story.

A very short tale of Apple White. Well, a tale would be giving it substance and an actual storyline, this is like a prequel's prequel. Watch her follow her thoughts as everyone else packs for her as she heads to Ever After High. If you don't know about it then you don't know the fairytale kingdom. (Netflix and book series.) Also don't worry. Great for those who enjoy the series though
