I tried! I really am. But I just can not go past 20% of the audio book. The joke, the banter are over the place that makes me wants to skip this book so bad. I pick up this book hoping for some light rom com read. But its just not working for me.

Lately, I ends up with a not so great book. I think I am losing my touch on picking up a good book

What a fun read!!

The angst was low, the romance and comedy high, and the sexy times just right! It was a wonderful read and I can’t wait to read some others by this author!

Good story with fun characters. I don’t think I’ll remember it but I was good.

I absolutely loved this. This is the first book by Sylvia Stewart and I fell in love. This story was beautifully told and with relatable characters! Love it!

I have to say the five year Rocco has to be my favorite character of this book. He was adorable, and I felt for all his little quirks as he tries to adjust to all the changes. Mind you the story focuses on Laney, his single mother who is trying to find her way, and Nate the manager of a construction company.

While she goes to question him on the new development in the neighborhood he happens to be building, she finds herself checking him out instead. I liked that both characters were flawed and quirky. Their families felt like my own, siblings who annoy each other but love each other fiercely too.

Fiona, the BFF of Laney is a firecracker and you see a little glimpse into what will be the next book and I am sure to read it!

A nice quick read. It is not a deep storyline, there isn't a lot of build-up and angst. But sometimes you just need a nice, easy, heart-warming type story. Yeah, there were some problems and parts were somewhat cheesy. But in all honesty, I can see reading this or something like it again when I need a light read.

After reading all of the rave reviews, I expected quite a bit from this book, but ended up feeling disappointed. The overall feeling I came away with was that it totally lacked maturity. I expect tweens and teens to be obsessed with scatological humor, but when a woman hits her 20s, it can be funny every once in awhile, but not constantly. Not to mention the again teenage-iefied references to sex at the beginning, "cream" and "hard," that might have sounded funny in the writing, but not in the actual reading.
The romance both didn't and did happen too quickly. What do I mean? Well, it took 25% of the book for them to finally meet (way too long) and then when they did, there was instalove, which was really instalust (far more believable).
And then it felt like nothing substantial happened. The main character did a drama queen that was supposed to be feisty, but just seemed like someone having a tantrum, and this was supposed to be the major division between them.
So this one definitely is offered up as your mileage may vary because a lot of readers found it funny and worthy of 4 or 5 stars.
Hopefully the next one in the series will be better.

Superficial, all fluff, no depth. No angst, which can be fine, but this didn't have the characters development to go with it. I think it could be chalked up to weak writing mostly.
