Asex, allorromantic wanderlust girl falls in love with a sentient robot. Lesbian cozy fantasy.
What's there not to like.

Very much liked this - the tone, the premise, both Claire and Sal. Lots to mull on, lots to enjoy.

I enjoyed this book quite a lot. It’s an interesting world with interesting and likeable characters and the writing is approachable and has a kind of delicate quality to it that is quite lovely. I also liked the dual POVs (which sometimes can read as too similar but in this case were distinct despite the small page count). This novel is similar to Becky Chambers’ new Monk and Robot series and it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if this book was inspiration for Chambers’ series. My main issue is that it’s too short and the story feels underdeveloped and insta-lovey because of it. It also doesn’t give you much time to connect to the characters. If the author had expanded this by even another 50 pages and given herself the room to show us more of Clara and Sal falling in love and letting their relationship develop, this could have been a 5-star read.
