This book should be required reading for all Americans. I have a background in history, and yet so much of this book's narrative was new to me. It is an incredibly dark, and depressing story, but it is well written and unflinching in its characterization of the violence that billions of people lived through, and that the United States supported.

Shines a light on a horrific chapter in world history. I do wish the book had been longer and had more room to expand its thesis as I felt the second half was a little rushed.

If you're Indonesian (especially if you're old enough to read academic-level books like this) PLEASE read this book. It's extremely important to read because this book shows what truly happened back in 1965-1966, and also its context within the global geopolitical space.
