This is a really good story. I enjoyed it a great deal. I particularly enjoyed the ending.

What the perfect audio for yesterday and today, it was the presidential election 2016 in the USA and I'll say only this... I'm glad to be Canadian today.
Why do I say it was the right audio for the times? The story is about the political speeches of one Visteen Krane, a politician who died just before nominating is vice-presidential running mate. The setting is in an aural museum which I thought was really original; it's about how sound can be manipulated and how friends (or opponents) can make you say anything with your recordings once you are gone.
There was a big twists - not going to spoil you - which I didn't see coming and that was fun. Colin was excellent as always, this is an early sixth Doctor so he hasn't matured yet, but he's still very enjoyable. What to say on Peri? She was one of my least favorite companions, the character was so underdeveloped in the tv series and you had to feel for Nicola; audio does redeem the character to a certain extent, she does use her brain and has clever ideas... too bad nothing can be done about that phony accent (my american Whovian friends tell me it sounds good to them; well, I never bought it even before I knew it was really phony).
I really liked this audio, but I think a lot of this has to do with the timing of my listening to it (and it was a coincidence); maybe not for the casual fan, but the hard core Whovian will not be disappointed.

Whispers of Terror did make something special of the audio environment, with the Museum of Aural Antiquities being a place which for obvious reasons loses little by being portrayed through sound alone rather than vision as well. The Six/Peri banter was pleasantly nostalgic too. Sadly the plot was fairly obvious right from the word go, with a silly twist at the very end.

I really didn't like Colin Baker as the 6th doctor but on audio he's nowhere near as annoying. A good production as all of Big Finishes are.
