I found this a fun, sexy story. When the three meet its instant attraction. How this relationship develops is interesting since all three are totally different. The road trip is more than enough to make me envious. The choices each makes just cements the future. It was interesting to find out about Roman’s voice and Alex’s career choice. The only part I found missing is why Alex’s parent’s react the way they do when they find out about the three. I think the author ended the story in a warm and surprising way.

Mark has to return home for the first time since he left for college. He is NOT looking forward to it - mostly because he feels like the same overweight nerd that got picked on in high school. Of course he has to run into his hot jock crush from back then first thing. Of course that guy is the contractor working on his grandmother's house. What Mark doesn't expect is for Carter to flirt with him. Or ask him over for dinner. I mean, it's impossible for someone like Mark to be with someone who looks like Carter... right?

I'm just gonna say it - I was bored with this book. Mark's self-esteem was the only conflict in the book. Everyone else was perfect and nice - and by that I mean dull and uninteresting. You might get into this book if you are looking for something all the way at the end of the fluff spectrum.

"No. There was no way he could look at me the way I looked at him. That would be totally absurd. He was the very definition of masculine beauty, and I was…well, I was just Mark Sullivan. Former chubby high school kid, current chubby adult man." Repeat similar thought at least once every chapter.

Mark was hesitant about returning to his hometown to help his grandmother oversee the renovations on her house, after he was bullied in high school. Carter had wanted Mark back in high school and felt he had missed his chance until Mark returned to town. Mark couldn't quite figure out what Carter saw in him, because he thought Carter was an Adonis and Mark was overweight just like in high school. Carter supported Mark in whatever he wanted as long as he was happy and loved him just the way he was. It took a lot of intervening from Grandma Nancy and Hunter to get Mark to stop pushing Carter away and just be happy. I laughed when Mark convinced Carter to help him outsmart Grandma Nancy at her Southern breakfast feast.

Mark comes back to his hometown to help his grandmother, but he is a bit hesitant because of high school bullying and low self esteem because he is slightly overweight. Carter never left town and is really excited when he sees his high school crush back in town. He has never really acknowledged or acted on his feelings for another guy before, but Mark being back seemed like a chance he couldn’t pass up. They were really cute together. It was great to see Mark try to get himself healthier, but his obsession with it was definitely causing problems. I’m glad that Carter was able to see through some of the barriers Mark put up and was able to let him know how much he loved him as he was. Very sweet.
