I know this book is mainly about addiction. But Kathleen Glasgow portraits the need to lose yourself in someone else so beautifully. I have never heard someone get that! I do this⌠Like a lot⌠and I so get EmmyâŚ
Â
But now speaking of the book!
Another Masterpiece, my personal second favorite glasgow book!!
The struggle of addiction, no matter what kind, is a life long process, fight and âstruggleâ! What I love about these books ist that theyâre brutally honest! No need to glorify, romanticise or talk things down! Life is brutal!Â
Yet these books have something so wonderful and beautiful about them! They seem fragile and I always get the need to protect everyone in the booksâŚ
I donât know how to say it, but I wouldnât be the version of myself that I am rn without these books!Â
forever grateful <3

Now 7 years later I started this one wondering maybe I was fascinated by the first book way too much since I had different standards.
I was wrong. It took me a day to finish this one. The writing style is beautiful and makes you see from the eyes of the main character and feel her every emotion.
I think it must be a hard task to keep the reader hooked when youâre writing about such a challenging subject and miss. Glasgow did pretty well.Â
One thing that I love both about Youâd be home now and Girl in pieces, is that the ending is not like a fairy tail. Itâs realistic. Itâs not necessary sad but itâs not hero-ish either. The characters make mistakes, the mistakes you think that are gonna mess them up even more and it happens but youâll learn itâs ok. I suggest this to anyone who feels like theyâre facing a deadend. There are triggers and tears, even with that, I felt Iâd be fine to panic a little.
Definitely a favorite!
