Finlay Donovan is such a mess, but that's why we love her.

Another tale of bumbling misadventures with Finlay and Vero that's hard to put down once you pick it up. The second in a series, it's easy to see why Finlay has become a popular heroine in the mystery genre - because she (and these books) are so incredibly different than everything else out there.

Other mysteries are full of meticulous killers, and detectives that pick up on every little thing. Finlay and Vero are housewife and babysitter. They are messy and often use a breaking down minivan with kids carseats in the back as their getaway car. They leave evidence all over the place and barely know how to hide their own tracks. They are mischievous and accident prone and oh so much fun to dive into!

The twist in this one was a bit predicatable, but I really like how they've set-up book three.

Book three, here I come!

Overview: I do love Finlay and was excited to start this book. As always, she's very relatable as a mother but the fact she seems to get publishing deals and has an agent at all bugs the hell out of me because she does no writing and blags her way through book pitches! Oh...and hey even a movie deal! (Not me being jealous at all...) Anyway...that aside...This was enjoyable but I got thoroughly confused by the end.

Good Points: Finlay and Vero are a great team. Although I'm losing trust for Vero fast! They seem to get themselves in such a mess and I'm here for it. The writing itself is easy to read and since it's first person it makes Finlay relatable and easy to connect to.

Not so Good Points: Finlay as a writer aside, im not a fan of the love triangle. None of it feels real or sincere. And the plot got so complicated towards the end and the final reveal left me going..."huh?"

Am looking forward to the next book in the series as I'll be continuing to follow Finlay's journey and continue to be jealous of a fictional character that she's a successful author and I'm not...

Finlay and her BFF babysitter extraordinaire, Vero are back in the second book of the funniest mystery crime series that is on the market.

This time, it looks like someone want’s Finlays ex husband on the chopping block. These two amateur sleuths jump through the funniest, zaniest, clever clues to lead them to piece together the clues they need to figure out who might be behind it.

Love it and number 3 can’t get here soon enough.

I was so excited for this sequel and it did not disappoint. The characters stayed true to the first book and their stories progressed in a way that felt completely right. The humor and interactions between Vero and everyone else continued to be the best part of the book. Needless to say, I can't wait for the next book in the series.

This is a series I'll revisit again and again. I love Vero and Finlay's relationship and it's the epitome of women supporting women and sometimes men aren't sh*t
