"You wear the hat, you ride the cowboy."
Honestly looking forward to the other books in the series (except for the Cade and Jasper ones because they really grate me the wrong way as characters).

this felt quite shallow in terms of character exploration in the same way other books in this genre seem to tend towards, but otherwise this was pretty well written and fun. cringe at times but par for the course i think

okay listen, I loved it but I didn’t LOVE it, you know! I think it was so overhyped to me that I was expecting a cross between yellowstone and the eden’s series - which it had hints of, but I was definitely expecting a bit suspense 😅 that’s my own bad folks

summer was the perfect FMC for this story!! a city gal with a cowgirl heart, loving the drama and suspense of rodeos and ranch life 🥹 she’s basically me every time I watch yellowstone and google how expensive it is to live on a ranch

rhett was the sexy rodeo bad cowboy with a reputation, and boy, did he live up to the hype!! however, I do think he has a lot to work on emotionally and not a lot of admission and work was done to earn summer’s trust 😶 I think there was a lot of miscommunication due to ✨ trauma ✨ and inability to place 100% responsibility on oneself, which frankly made me super angry

rhett’s actions towards the end of the book were unforgivable and a bit possessive, and I wish summer had stuck to her guns with holding him accountable 🥴 that being said, they really were super cute together

I cannot wait to read more about this family because I just want to insert myself in it thank you very much!!!

thank you to netgalley and bloom books for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review!

Rhett and Summer were adorable! I was laughing put loud and the ending was so perfect and adorable for them. The thing that made this book lose half a star was the miscommunication trope. Its a heavy theme unfortunately and it makes the book lose some footing.

This was a fun and quick read. Overall it was a good, easy to digest romance. I liked that Rhett acted more his age (unlike protagonists in other small town romances *cough* Things We Never Got Over). There were some moments where he annoyed me a bit, but I think that's more just my personal preference. I liked that Summer called him out on his shit more. The writing was solid and I am interested in picking up more by Silver.

All of the books in this series have the ability to stand on there own as individual novels. I will say, as someone who read them out of order, it would have been much more immersive had I gone in order. Learn from my mistake, and go chronologically!
