A perfect issue of Giant Days. The plot was entirely contained within this one book, and I'm enjoying the little random, cryptic scenes they've had at the end of each issue following Daisy's driver's ed classes and ending with a random cliffhanger that may or may not get paid off. It's hilarious and wonderfully weird.
The entire first page was also a masterpiece. All the cameos of other books (Nimona, Prince & the Dressmaker, By Night, Backstagers, Lumberjanes, Steven Universe, Adventure Time, Over the Garden Wall, Blankets, Tank Girl, Spider-Gwen... just to name a few) were entertaining and felt like a treasure hunt trying to identify. I don't know if so many cameos have appeared in the other comic shop scenes, but if they have, I certainly haven't seen them.
The black-and-white segments with Susan were amazing, mixing the feelings of John Mulaney's Street Smarts and Spider-Man Noir in my mind.
Anytime McGraw appears on page I get excited since literally all of his lines are perfectly funny. His two small sections in this issue were well deserved.
This issue mainly reminded me why I love Giant Days, and why it's one of the best comic series out there. It's funnier than a sitcom, better drawn than most comics, and has more hearts than a milion Grinches.

I am constantly amazed by the sheer amount of adventures these girls can get into. You’d think at some point they’d run out of ideas, but not yet!
This is a Suzie heavy issue, but Daisy and Esther both play parts as well. On the whole it’s probably the closest to a balanced grouping we’ve seen in a while.
This was a pretty funny issue on the whole. A lot of detective noir humor, and a couple comic books and figure references (most of the latter of which Suzie didn’t understand, naturally). The baffled father was probably the funniest point in the plot, at least in my opinion.
I can’t shake this feeling that there’s something happening behind the scenes. Maybe that just means that I’ve been reading too many thrillers lately. Or maybe something really is up, I’m not sure. I adore McGraw so I’m sincerely not looking for anything nefarious on his part. I think he’s just planning a surprise or something. He’s totally the type to play the long game when it comes to surprises, even if it means that Suzie will kick his butt.

Looooved it. This series is always enjoyable for me because the characters are just so kooky and fun to follow. I loved Susan's detective skills and the callback to a past issue where her sleuthing also led to crazy shenanigans. Plus calling McGraw to find out what pipe on a house was best for shimming up sneakily was great.

This series always puts a smile on my face and I just love it.

Oh Susan!
This single issue was more on Susan and I for one was happy to read about her. Susan as a sleuth was pretty funny to read and I loved how it showed more of her character and her love of things noire.

I loved the black and white panels among the color ones as it propelled the story just beautifully among the theme and plot of this single issue while hinting at where Daisy and Esther are both in Susan's sleuthing but also in their own lives and the few McGraw cameos were golden!

Esther's boss has had a lot of thefts lately and isn't sure what to do after the cops won't help. Susan steps in to solve the crime!

"I know a few names, if you could make it worth my while..." "I've got a knuckle sandwich in my pocket if you want a bite."

I just love these girls so much.
