غير عادية بالمرة ... بعض الروايات تذكرنا كم كان التاريخ قاسيا وبغيضاً وعلينا البحث فيه لنعرف قصة من هُزم ومن قبع تحت ويلاته ورواية "الهرطوقي" هي واحدة منها بالتأكيد.

Si bien es cierto que al principio se me hizo un poco pesado y difícil de leer, en cuanto te introduces en la historia, esta te atrapa hasta terminarlo. Me ha gustado mucho la forma en la que estaba escrita, en la que se suceden las cosas y la construcción del personaje principal, Cipriano.

I've been hovering between two and three stars for this book, shame you can't do halves!!
On receiving this book, my first thoughts were 'Oh no this is going to be heavy going.' I was pleasantly surprised to find that it actually wasn't that bad. The history in this book is interesting, they way people lived, what they believed in, doctors methods of curing ills and deciding if a woman is able to conceive. I have to say I did find the topic quite boring at times too though and the translation was not the best with typos and some sentences that did just not make sense. The ending however, will stay with me for a while, the fact that prisoners were treated that is quite shocking, things have come along way since then.

No me ha convencido esta novela. Aunque pareze querer ser una exploration psychologica de estos protagonistas, no logra ir muy lejos. Además no me ha parecido muy realista la representación historica. Y un vocabulario inacostrumbrado que en mi caso ha añadido a la dificultad de conectar con los personages y la historia.

Sorprendente. Me lo mandaron para clase y pensé que vaya tostón. El epílogo es para matarse, y fueron las 40 páginas más largas e imposibles de todo el libro. Pero después, el libro fue de mal a mucho mejor. La historia es interesante, y aunque el argumento es a veces algo difícil de seguir (erasmos o luteranos), al final lo vas pillando.
Ves como se desarrolla el protagonista, Cipriano, que intenta vivir la fe como es debido, no es capaz,y se mortifica por esto a lo largo del libro entero.
Teo, Ana, el Doctor, Caldaña... son las personas que "aman y son amadas" por Cipriano, pero que al final unos u otros se abandonan, y el único amor que permanece en la historia es el de Minervina (¿¿¿¡MINERVINA???!!), hasta el momento de su muerte.
Además, vemos cómo Cipriano es el único que es realmente fiel a su fe y a sus hermanos, cuando son acusados de herejes, aunque aquellos que traicionaron, acabaron como él: en la hoguera

Una novela histórica a la que no se le notan las costuras contemporáneas.
Ojalá una edición anotada para aclarar palabras y cosas antiguas.

No tengo palabras para describir la rabia que me ha dado –y lo muchísimo que me ha gustado– la tercera parte del libro.
