Wow... what a stunning book. In just 148 pages the author perfectly communicates the intensity of young love, desire, imbalance of power, fear of being caught. The pain of love that has ended that stays with a person for their entire life. Beautiful writing and a sad tragic story that left me in tears.
Very important piece in today's world where homophobia still exists.

I didn’t think I’d be this ruined over a novella. This reminded me of Call Me By Your Name, but with main characters who are of the same age, and based in France. The prose is beautiful, and easy to digest, which my pea brain appreciates. Although it tells the story of the main character’s first love (in first person POV), this was angsty and relatable in the saddest way.

Book kindly provided by Penguin UK via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thanks!

Sometimes your first love makes you. Most times, it will undo you. Lie with me tells the story of both.

I had wanted to read this book for a long time so I opened it with a sense of trepidation, hoping I wouldn't be about to be sorely disappointed. I needn't have worried. Lie with me was fast and moving and beautiful and ultimately heartbreaking. It made me wish I was 17 again. It made me glad I'm not 17 anymore. Just gorgeous.
