Leiselotte “Lottie” Gardner has just been fired by her best friend, and in revenge wants to get a rich boyfriend by the time her high school reunion is and stick it in her face. Huxley Cane can’t land a deal at work and decides to lie in the hope of gaining some middle ground with the man. Along comes Lottie with a crazy mind and a mouth who always defies him. Having found someone on such short notice he cannot let her slip between his fingers.

Ok I genuinely have never laughed so hard at a book until I read the evil one-eyed fake baby scene… there were tears in my eyes! I really liked this story and that’s all I gotta say.

It took me ages to get through this book but not because I didn’t love it, I just went into a bit of a reading slump.

From the first few pages this book had me absolutely cackling it was that funny. I loved Lottie and her wise sass attitude, I also enjoyed the banter between her and Huxley.

I think this book stalled for me when it came to Huxley, he wasn’t a nice character for me, he was arrogant and I just didn’t like him as a main character or main love interest.

What did keep me reading was Lottie and the side characters; the 2 other Huxley brothers and Kelsey (Lottie’s sister), the banter between the characters were highly entertaining and had me laughing out loud throughout the book.

Will definitely be picking up Book 2 in The Crane Brothers series as I’d love to see the relationship between JP (Crane brother) and Kelsey, that would be entertaining at the very least.

It seems Meghan Quinn books are known for its laughter and it’s spice scenes, so I’m all here for both.
