An absolute worthy sequel.
I'm in love love love with Kazi and Jase's relationship. And the plot... I wish Mary E. Pearson would write more books of these two.

Honestly, I found the whole “blackface” as a main plot point- to be both racially insensitive & completely unnecessary. It completely ruined the book for me, and made me resent reading this book.
Having finished this Duology I find I have more criticisms than compliments. For this particular genre & themes explored, it gets a solid C- at best. It’s not something I will be recommending.
