This book was like a big, embarrassing, fanfiction of every piece of vampire media that's ever been popular in mainstream culture. It was a spicy novel Frankenstein-ed to death with plot devices from other vampire books and movies. I can't say that I did not enjoy it in, it was certainly spicy and that is definitely one thing that I can say that this author writes well. The rest of it... the characters and plot specifically? Lazy. Everything that happened aside form the spice was conveniently wedged in to justify every fantastical thought the author dreamed up. I understand that it's a fantasy and there is a measure of suspended disbelief required but if an author is going to set a book like this in the real world, they should attempt to make it at least a little bit realistic. The main character was nothing special, typical erotica protagonist archetype. Questionable parentage, daughters of a prominent figure, unidentified powers, ends up being more important than everyone thought, etc. Also everything that went wrong she blamed on herself and that felt gross to me. Overall, it was.... fun and the writing was baseline fine. Nothing special and not life changing.

I wouldn’t say this book was life-changing, by any means…but the characters were fun and the smut was good. Solid read if you’re looking for a blush-worthy vampire romance!

This book was definitely enjoyable and a very fast read. I LOVED the first Act: Sacrifice. It was sooo sexy and fun to read, the rest  (act 3 especially the last 50-100 pages) kind of dragged. There’s a good amount of plot mixed in with A LOTTTT OF SPICE. This was my first reverse harem and so I didn’t know what to expect but I was actually pleasantly surprised, despite a lot of the writing feeling kind of wattpad-y. It’s definitely good for vampire fans wanting to relive our middle school wattpad era or just a fun fast read (despite being 476 pages you just zoom through!!). I really wish we had gotten more of a build between just Mina and Malachi, once the other men were introduced it just kind of stopped developing. AND KATEE LOVES TO TALK ABOUT HOW BIG THIS MAN IS PLZ. And the plot was very easily resolved lol every single time, it could have been built up so much more!!

Spicy. Spicy. Spicy. 🌶️ A tale of broody, sexy vampires, silly seraphim, and their undying bond with one another. Romantic and sexy at the same time. Thoroughly enjoyed this one!

The spice definitely takes up more of this book than the plot does, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Very good portrayal of vampires

Writing: 3.5⭐️/5
The many grammar/spelling errors in this book did take me out of the writing. I’m not sure it’s actually not good writing, so much as it needed a bit more love during editing. Overall, it was more than enjoyable on a writing level.

Characters: 4.5⭐️/5
The characters were shockingly well-developed. Each love interest really felt like they had their own personality, motives, characteristics, and goals. Despite all characters ending up more or less obsessed with our main character, each still felt like their own person, which is honestly quite a feat in and of itself.

Plot: 3⭐️/5
Okay, so the non-sex plot of this book was a really intriguing idea. I love the vampires, the seraphs, and the history between the two. I would have loved for this to be much more fleshed out in detail because, while the potential was there, I don’t think we got quite enough of it.
The sex plot was about as contrived as it needed to be to make sense, though I did appreciate the attention to detail in order to make basically everything in this world sexy as hell.

Post-Reading Rating:  3.75⭐️/5
Again, I really liked the overarching story.

Who Should Read This?
  • Someone looking for spicy sex scenes
  • Those who like fantasy erotica

CW: Pregnancy, blurred consent, violence, blood, gore

Final Rating: 3.5⭐️/5
