A great overview, a primer for all those unfamiliar to Paganism.

I've dabbled since I was eleven and been serious since I was twenty-five, I'm now almost thirty, so I'm not unfamiliar. But I did learn some things. The kid in me wanted more pictures, though... of the symbols especially. I had to stop and Google some unfamiliar ones.

An excellent primer for, as the title implies, any and every new seeker of Paganism. I've always felt enthralled by the Greek pantheon (thanks, Hercules and Xena), but only recently felt drawn to start wearing both a triquetra and amethyst crystal nearly 24/7. Sebastiani goes through a high-level overview of how modern Paganism has come to be, the tools and symbols and rituals associated with the major traditions, and a starter list of resources to continue your journey into Paganism if you so desire. I'm very much looking forward to continuing my own spiritual journey with this newfound knowledge as my foundation.

Paganism for beginners is a grate foundation for those wanting to explore paganism. Because Paganism is so diverse and there are no set paths on “how to do it”, it’s a very difficult subject to explore so Althea did a spectacular job at putting this together. While the first few chapters kept me intrigued and highlighting everything, 4 chapters in, the pace began to slow and then it just sort of came to a holt. The book has essential information for beginners but it’s just that, essential information and nothing more. So if your expecting to dive deep into a particular subject on paganism, your not gonna get that from this book. I loved the information because I do consider myself a beginner, I just wish it wasn’t a bit of a drag to read every now and then.
