Classic murder mystery wrapped in historical fiction. Well written. Centered on a character named Rollo Martins, who travels to Vienna post-WWII at the invitation of a friend only to arrive and learn that he has been murdered. An investigation leads to certain twists and turns. Not much else to say. Easy read.

Another great book by Graham Greene. I'm a very big fan of 40s noirs and Raymond Chandler etc, so I really enjoyed this.

Sacrilege, maybe, but once you hear Orson Welles's whistling, it's hard to go back to the original.

felt pretty shallow, the plot just keeps moving without much depth... probably better enjoyed as a movie but definitely not as a play for me
i'm also not a fan of audio adaptations i can't follow along with the book but that's audible theatre's fault
