⭐️3.75 The beginning was quite fun but it story started to feel a little plain as we reached the 50 percent mark. Anyway still a fun read. I especially loved the concept of reading a spin off story as I often grew too attracted to the old characters. Just wonder if Nat and Derek would get their own book. If so I would love to read a second chance romance!

It was fine? I don't know where to land this book really. It wasn't awful but not great either.

Basically a douchey football player falls in love with a "nerdy" girl who kind of changes her whole personality for him bc love. Spicy scenes were good tho, the tension was awesome, so I guess save this book for a "mood"

I have to give this book credit tho bc there wasn't a third act BS and I did love that.

To sum it up…it was okay.

Not my favourite sports romance but also not the worst. There were points in the book where I was really enjoying myself. But then there were parts where I would question the writing style a little - at some points it just felt a little juvenile for being a college romance. There was also no third act breakup scene… just a small fight about an ex boyfriend. Again, it just felt too young.

Overall: 2.5/5 ⭐️
Spice: 2.5/5

What the hell did I just read? Like where do I begin. Am I going to start with the bad or the god?
Bad it is!
First of all.
Let’s start with the title. Why do you name your book something that doesn’t correspond to the freaking BOOK. Like I’m just … disbelief, I mean, why do you name your book “ playing hard to get” when the main couple isn’t Playing. Hard. To. Get! I would be happy if the second couple of the book where playing hard to get (which I think the second couple doesn’t exist, yet. I think it’s going to be Blair and Cam and even them with the four minutes of screen we’re sticking more with the freaking title, if you know what I mean!).
Second
The freaking main character! Like stick to your word, girl. She said she hated football guys because of what her dad did to her mum and her and then goes and dates the most popular and player and most likely to break her heart. Just admitted that you never hated them in the first place. You just hated your dad.
Third
This isn’t a complain is just a question, maybe two. This one is for the author but if you guys know, why the fuck, you should also reply. It’s very basic I’ll get to the point.
Why didn’t Blair told Knox about her Dad? Why didn’t she told him? WHYYYY?
I mean I think that was going to be the first thing I would tell my boyfriend, as soon as things start to get very serious between us. I really hope that she ( Monica, the author) is going to put like a chapter or two about this subject in the sequel. I really want to read about it. I want to read the dialogue between them. I want to see the face of Knox when she drops the bomb of who is her Dad. Because in my head her dad is someone special, it as to be, there’s no other ideia of what her dad is. He as to be famous, period. Matter a fact, I want her dad to be like Knox’s role model. Like Knox REALLY supports him and loves what he as done for the sport and want’s to be like him. I want to picture Knox face when is girlfriend tell’s him that is role model, this Big Giant Dude that he loves is this shitty person who abandoned the love of his life.
The second question is. Why didn’t we heard more about her family? Knox is always talking about it and how important it is to him. We even got the family really in the book, like articulating words, formulating sentences and talk to each other. Just to be clear when I mean family I’m talking about his parents, not is sisters. We’ve read about them 24/7.
He gets to introduce Blair to his family and she doesn’t get the same thing? My question is. Why didn’t she introduced her boyfriend to her mom? I’m going to ask again. Why didn’t she even mention to her family that she got a boyfriend? I know why she is to afraid that her mother isn’t going to aprove. Well fuck her I don’t care. In fact I want to read about it. So write it. PLEASEEEEEE!

I believe I’m done. It feels good to leave it all out!
Thanks to everyone who as read this far, I hope you can see my point of view.
Right now I’m just hopping that the second book, can save the sequel. Because if it doesn’t.
