I love a book set in NYC, especially when I’m feeling nostalgic for the city. Don’t get me wrong, I’m 100% sure I wouldn’t be able to live there, but I love to visit and I especially love Broadway. This read like a love letter to theater and music, as well as just a lovely romance from my favorite author duo.

I had high hopes for this book, but ultimately, it didn't blow me away. The plot was semi interesting, although utterly surreal. I did enjoy the characters, but I felt that they tended to be very two dimensional and there wasn't really anything going on under the surface, especially with Holland. It didn't really delve into why she couldn't start writing a book, or why she was content in a dead end job. I just couldn't relate to that at all, and I think they could have done a much better job defining each of the characters. It was a sweet, fluffy read, there just wasn't a lot of substance to it.

I really enjoyed like the first 300 pages of this book.

This was such a fun book. I really relate to Holland and I feel like all of her actions made sense. I even got teary eyed due to frustration (and pms) when she was having an argument with Calvin and I felt all the emotions she felt which doesn't happen to me very often. Yes, I feel like some things were convenient and/or far fetched, there were definitely a couple of cliches but the only thing that matters is that I enjoyed my time reading this and got really invested in the story.

LOVE Calvin. I like Holland most of the time but she’s got a tendency to throw a pity-party.

Loved the taste of broadway culture.

This book was super adorable and was definitely what I needed at the time of reading it! It was about a fake relationship between a New Yorker and an adorably sexy Irishman. I loved getting to know Holland and Calvin and their story is super cute. Calvin is a musician who gets a chance of a lifetime to perform on Broadway but he unfortunately is an illegal and has been living in New York past his school visa. Enter in the fake relationship set up by Holland. There are twists and turns, some I saw coming a mile away and some that snuck up on me. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am highly anticipating more books written by this duo.

I highly recommend this one to anyone who wants to read a comically romantic fake relationship turned real.
