Honestly, the book lost me a bit in the middle but it's not possible not to love Poirot, especially since the story starts fully with him (and a marvelous interaction between narrator and Poirot).

Overall a good story but I felt a bit lost at some points with the amount of detail (and possibly red herrings)

Poirot is asked by his friend Superintendent Spence to look into the murder of Mrs. McGinty because something isn't right, he doesn't think that the person convicted for the murder is the person who did it. Poirot comes to his aid and ends up staying at the Summerhayes' in more chaos and mess than he'd like but he puts up with it and goes to solving the murder.

As always the murderer came as a shock to me but when Poirot explains it all at the end it makes sense. After reading so many of Ms. Christie's I'm still surprised how she came up with new murder plots for all her books.

This one was a little on the slower side but seeing Mrs. Oliver back was fun and I think I'm leaning more towards 3.5 stars for this one.

I like Poirot and it was nice that this book followed so much of his actions and thoughts.

The actual mystery plot and suspects weren't that interesting to me.
