overall an easy read but didn’t wow me. perfect if you just want to read a heart warming, lgbtq+ story that’s easy to follow.

What a fun, light, and heart-warning read! Just the sort of romance I needed for a pick-me-up.

I don’t know if I’m just not quite the target audience or if I’m a gay man who came out later than high school if I have untoward jealousy to these characters for getting their big high school romance.

On one hand I love the love story. The missed connections and do-overs and making it work and pining over one another in a way that occupies your entire mind. On the other I want to shake both of them to let them know there is more to life than boys and maybe pursuing the individual things that they are both passionate about will be enough for now. Focus on hobbies and friends and school.

But at the end of the day it was a fun and light hearted read. Did it have too many Harry Potter references for my current take? Yes. Was I also a Harry Potter obsessed teen? Also yes. It has made me more mindful of my current relationships both romantic and platonic as Ben and Arthur’s tale weaves together stories of both and honestly, at times, I found myself caring quite a lot about the secondary characters that were introduced and their struggles.

Fun and quick read that piqued enough interest that I will likely read the sequel.
