This was quite fun!

We get a story of Superman from his moms side and her feelings sending her baby away and that was nice and then a tie-in to zero year like how Clark saved Lana there and then the big story in the present when Subtarranea attacks and how Clak deals with that and I love the way he fights the monster "Baka" and later pets him and when confronted with the princess of that region Kokya and rescuing creatures from there and what happens when it comes in the sunlight and how Clark deals with that in return and its an emotionally charged issue, Superman vs monsters and it has the action element really well but also that character development and the friendship between the two and some mysterious "Ghost soldier" and the organization he works for and what Clark does next!

So yeah sure do give it a read and it has loads of action with great art with Clark's personality and upbringing shining through and what he does next will be epic to see!

I'm currently doing a reread of New 52 Superman, and his was the first title in my reread where I actually changed my star rating. It went up. I think by this point in my initial read I was just so over weird, edgy Superman stories that I had no patience left. This time, however, I was kinda in. It's primarily a Superman/Lana story. Superman finds a little monster changeling who's probably a prince who lives in an underground city and Lana is a Lara Croft type... I should stop. I'm talking myself out of that star upgrade. The point is. It was kooky, but this time I found it fun.

I liked this volume more than I've liked the past two. At first, I was wondering why they were telling us the origin story, again, but as I kept reading, I saw that it had ties throughout the volume. I actually liked the way this story arc was written, showing Superman's concern and struggle between humans and non-humans. I'm just hoping the next volume will actually continue with the arc and not just be random short stories.
