Lovely illustrations, flowing language...and red galoshes. And I have to admit I didn't quite get it. Why are the galoshes floating? Why is one filled with peanut butter? I guess I wasn't given enough reason to suspend disbelief.

The illustrations drew me in. The story was pretty laid-back, mostly a list of rainy day activities this young girl and boy enjoyed throughout the day. The refrain of "and red galoshes" at the end of each fun activity was fun in storytime, but a little awkward.
