i enjoyed this book (3 stars is NOT a negative review where I'm concerned). it was well written, quite dark in places, well-paced with a clever sliding timeline and kept me guessing concerning the antagonist's identity. it just wasn't a wowow thriller. i kind of guessed the protagonist like halfway through the book. but it was really entertaining to listen to.

Minus the first chapter (a little raunchy), I was hooked.
This book definitely had some “Gone Girl” vibes, Kent even jokingly mentioned the book within the story. Both books are written in two different points of view, one view in the past and one in the present. But Kent’s point of views are from the missing wife and her sister. I always love a good book that has multiple view points, and bonus if the viewpoints take place during two different time periods.

Both the main characters develop throughout the book, as well as the supporting characters. Kent did this without the book being too wordy or drawn out, which is very impressive.
