I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Solstice Spirits by Erin Johnson is about getting second chances and that maybe money isn't everything.
Rudie Hollybrook is the main character of this book, and she's so adorable. She has learned to love her ability to see ghosts and how beneficial it is with her family's business. Rudie is a great character that I wouldn't mind being friends with because it seems like we are kind of the same even though I don't run my family's funeral business or dee ghosts. Other than that, personality-wise, we seem to be the same. Rudie tries to see the good in everyone, which is where things get a bit dicey for her in this installment. I wouldn't mind being friends with Rudie, plus Snowball is super cute.
Hayley Swift sees her great-aunt's ghost, Holly Swift, and poor Rudie feels like she is seeing double. Hayley asks Rudie to help her with trying to get her aunt's ghost to go away. So, they decided to try to find out what happened to Holly and if she was actually killed like Hayley seems to think. Rudie sets out to figure out who to look into from Holly's past to glean some light on Holly. Hayley decides to tag along as well. Did someone push Holly Swift down the stairs, or was it just some freak accident?
Solstice Spirits by Erin Johnson has a great twist on a classic Christmas tale, but I won't spill on which one, but I did catch that Ms. Johnson. I love being able to explore Rudie's world with her sisters and their significant others. It has been a delight reading this novel and going from hot temperatures to being cooled off in the snow of living near the North Pole. My rating for Ms. Johnson's book is five stars, and I recommend it to anyone who loves to read paranormal holiday cozy mysteries.
Will Rudie want to help Hayley with her ghost problem?

This is the second book I've read in this charming series by Erin Johnson. Rudie Hollybrook is the only witch that can see ghosts in her hometown of Holiday Haven near North Pole and her abilities help her solve many mysteries. The setting is so charming and full of Christmas spirit and Erin Johnson's writing is funny and engaging. I loved curling up with these books and always read them with a smile on my face.
