I really enjoyed it. The characters didn't really vibe with me, but I didn't mind the story. I thought the romance felt forced, so I wasn't as interested in it. Sato's backstory was particularly difficult to read about, so I'm gonna stop here because of that.

I had so much fun with this first volume of Given. I can't really remember the names, because I'm horrible with them, except for Sato, who I thought was an adorable character, but I know I loved all of the characters. Especially the main guy that always seems to be so angry but at the same time extremely helpful and I just loved how he interacted with people and people interacted with him. I'm also feeling a lot of emotions for the lovesick fool of a band mate. He's not that big of a character yet, or I don't feel like he is, but I really want him to be happy. The poor guy.
The only character I feel that could go a little too far is the one girl, but even with her I feel like she could just as well turn out to be great, and I actually really appreciated the friendship between all of the side characters and how they interacted with the main band, so I just had a lot of fun with the story. And I will absolutely continue reading, because I really want to know how all of this turns out. So far I loved every second and thought the story and characters were really adorable.
