Accessible, nuanced, & incredibly useful book. Several useful phrases to name feelings and coping mechanisms.

This was a hard one for me to stay engaged with. Some of the themes resonated hard with me, and I found some of the tools of mindfulness in relation to climate-related anxiety to be helpful (helpful with good ole regular anxiety too). It felt kind of textbooky at times and journaly at others, but overall added some good perspective for me and provided me with new things to think about.

2.5 rounded up. It feels good to be validated about the psychological impact of climate change. The mental health strategy are sound for coping but the larger structural things about what we do as a larger community are pretty paint by the numbers. Gen Z’s climate strikes are inspirational but they are clearly not working and we need a bigger plan outside of the system if we are going to stop anything.

I've been stuck in a cycle of dread and numbness over the future since I was in middle school. This book mad eme feel like I wasn't going crazy over my concern, and that my rage was worth something. I still have a lot of work to do- as do we all. But at least there's a path forward.
