Disclaimer: I'm adding every book I read in 2016 to Goodreads in December. I think I read this one... sometime late summer/early fall.

These were fairly disappointing. Mostly one-liners and cleavage and a lot of teasing subtext about Harley's relationship with Poison Ivy that's only irritating because although it's 100% intentional, it's very clear that it's for titillation only and there's zero chance of anyone developing that storyline. This just seems to be cashing in on the cash cow of good old Harl's popularity of late - although to be fair, I think this series started while the movie was in production, but not yet released, so well before every other person was cosplaying Harley with the sledgehammer.

What's not to love, it's Harley Quinn. I liked seeing her in all of the different art styles. Great read!

How I love Harley Quinn..... There is something about her caring crazy style you have to love.

I had read some of the older Harley comics, but they had some moments that would loose me. As with all the comics in The New 52 era, Harley is getting a bit of a make over with these storylines.

Thankfully we have not started an origin story, but just entered as a new chapter in our anti-hero's life. For those who are reading this as their first glimpse of Harley, you will figure out her past quick enough. They give plenty of hints as to who she was.

These stories are fun and quirky. They pull out some classic Harley moments and create new ones as well. The artwork and designs of both Harley and Ivy are some of my favorite.

A part of the New 52 DC reboot, this was also my first foray into a Harley Quinn comic. I'm not very familiar with DC Comics, or Harley specifically (or heck, even Batman), so I cannot comment on the quality in reference to her past comics, but I did definitely enjoy this one as it is. It was funny and well-written, though with plenty of gore and viscera, which I guess I should have expected!
I'm also thrilled to see that a woman (Amanda Conner) served as the artist for this series. I love supporting women in comics, and her art definitely contributed to my enjoyment of the series. Harley's sexy and very well drawn, but it never feels like I'm leering or that she's solely for eye candy purposes.
The writing was quick-witted and the story never dragged or felt bogged down. Harley's unique voice comes through very well and her character was a pleasure to read.

Couldn't get into this one. Honestly it felt like a bad Deadpool ripoff minus any of the humor that makes Deadpool fun to read. Only giving it 2 stars because I liked her puppy sidekick.

Unfortunately I didn't like it.
The first issue was Harley having a breaking-the-4th-wall conversation with the writers, and trying out different artists to tell her story, and it reflects the rest of the book: not much of a plot, Harley being was to distracted to be anything but distracting, the art being very hit-or-miss.
But the worst for me was that the humor really didn't hit the mark. Harley didn't feel crazy, she felt plain stupid. Probably a good sidekick but not main character, and I love her so I was super disappointed.

This was my first foray into DC and it was good. Interesting to read Harley and to see her on her own. I liked it. Though I did not like the beginning of the story where they were trying out all of those drawing styles, it felt forced and more than once I wanted to skip past it to get to the meat of the story.

Is it an outstanding piece of literature in the graphic novel genre? No. But it's fun as hell.

Plus Harley and Ivy are my OTP, so I can't not like it.
