This was my favorite book when I was young! I still recommend the book to everyone. Added bonus for adults who get really animated when reading this one aloud (like my mom--which to be honest, is probably a big reason why I loved this book so much--she delivered it amazingly).

Very sorry for turning the pages and ruining your lovely walls, Grover.

Household fav. Grover is an unreliable albeit entertaining narrator.

This was one of my all-time favorite books when I was a kid. Especially if it's read with a dramatic "Grover voice." :) My mom used to read it to me, and then I used to take it with me in my "babysitting kit" when I was a teenager, and I read it to my babysitting charges. Over and over and over.

The premise of the book is that Grover has heard that there is a MONSTER at the end of the book, and he desperately tries to prevent you, the reader, from reaching the end of the book and the scary monster. He devises all sorts of ways to nail the pages shut, brick them up, etc., but of course that doesn't work. I won't spoil the ending for you, but it's pretty hilarious and can lead to teachable moments about fear.

Grover (of Sesame Street) is terrified of the titular monster, and is determined to stop you from reaching the end of the story!

A hilarious and wonderful interactive classic picture book. A great choice for reading aloud to a little one or at storytime.

Greatest book ever! This book is the mantra for my life. If you just get through it, whatever the situation, one page at a time, by the end, the monster isn't that bad.

There's nothing quite like revisiting a childhood favorite. It is every bit as enjoyable as it was when I was a kid.

Let's just say I paid way more than I should of for a kids book to add this beloved book from my childhood to my kids bookshelf. That's how much I love it. Btw: my kids really love it too

By far the best children's picture book. Hands down.
