Emmy Jackson has made a name for herself as the honest “Instamum” who shines a spotlight on the realities of being a mother, a strategy that has helped her gain millions of followers and thousands in endorsements. Her husband is more skeptical, aware of just how much she stretches the truth for fame and fortune. But it’s working - Emmy seemingly has the world fooled. Except for one obsessive follower who wants to see her lose it all...
The premise of this one was definitely interesting, and it brings up some good questions about technology, fame, and social media. For me, the pacing was off on this one - it felt like nothing happened for the first 2/3rds of the story. The surprisingly dark, twisted ending partially redeemed it, though, and by the time I finished I found myself asking “what the hell did I just read??”

It’s official, I’m scared of social media now. Also, I hated almost every single character in this book and I think that’s the reason I enjoyed it so much, I just can’t explain it

Meh. Overly slow and rambling with a pretty naff ending. I hated the main characters and didn't care much for their fate. The main redeeming feature of this book is that it got the narcissistic attitude of an influence down to a tee.
