This was a great quick read. It was enjoyable and I really liked the character development. Andre and Nick were a great addition and I found myself rolling my eyes (in a good way) at all the puns. I enjoyed how the hats were a big part of the story, but the entire process was not shoved down the readers throat. It's well written and I look forward to reading more of this series as well as her other series.

In the story Scarlett comes over from the states to London to help her cousin, Vivian run their aunt's hat shop. Viv is away when Scarlett arrives and Scarlett is thrown into the business with only the help of her sexy financial manager, Harrison and her assistant Fee. Not long after Scarlett arrived she finds a well known and influential customer dead with only her custom made hat on. All fingers point to Vivian and Scarlett, with the help of Fee, Harrison and her two knew friends- Andre and Nick- must solve the murder in order to clear her cousins name.

An easy read and I enjoyed the beginning of the book and characters. The mystery/suspect didn’t come in until the second half of the novel and I found it predictable. I might pick up the next one in the series, we’ll see.

Book #5 Read in 2017
Cloche and Dagger by Jenn McKinlay

This is the first book in a cozy mystery series. Scarlett's love life blows up and she heads to England to stay with her cousin Viv and help out in the hat shop they co-own. But Viv is out of town and Scarlett's warm welcome is quickly marred with a dead body of a customer. Is Viv connected to this murder? Scarlett is an interesting heroine and there is a great cast of secondary characters, along with a good mystery plot and some romance as well. I will continue this series.

Slow paced, but well-written. Wished it would have moved a little faster, but all the loose ends were tied off nicely by the end of the story. Would recommend 3.5/5 stars.

Seriously love this new to me series. I want the characters to be my circle of friends. And I want to wear Viv’s hats. I love the wardrobe and Ferd the carved bird. Just everything about this series has me wanting to read the next book but there’s a four week wait at the library.
