Have you ever thought vampires are real? Ever wished it? What would you do if it turns out they were?

#VampireHeartsandOtherDeadThings is a #YAFantasy novel the toes the edge of this reality but where vampires ARE real.

Victoria’s dad is dying. He’s out of options to treat his cancer.

Victoria and her dad share a love of vampires, both real and fiction. They’ve seen all the movies, all the shows, read the books- and researched the real thing when they made their presence known years ago.

Now that science has failed them, Victoria is out to find a supernatural way to save her dad. She and her estranged best friend Henry are on the hunt for a vampire in New Orleans. And maybe, just maybe, they found one.

Nicholas sends them on a scavenger hunt to prove she can enjoy life before he’ll make any promises. But how far will Victoria go to save her dad?

#MargieFuston beautifully explores the stages of grief a person can go through when they are about to lose a parent. But the book isn’t depressing, despite its subject. It’s a fight for hope, when even hope is a lot to hope for. It’s about the family you’re born with and the family you choose, and how it’s ok to lean on both when you need to.

You’ll have seen this in the content warning, but use discretion when deciding to read this novel if you are going through your own grief. Some may find it comforting, while others find it difficult.
