While this holds up on its own as a standalone, this will no doubt be a bigger success among readers of the original series. The story is very dark and suspenseful, but it is told at such a quick pace that it will be hard for readers who are not already invested to latch on to Cyn and Avian.

I loved this book. This book pulls you in and you can't wait to see what's going to happen next with the characters. I was glad that Abbey and Caspian had cameos in this book. The Hollow Trilogy made you really care for them. I hope that we get to visit with Cyn and Thirteen again as well. I can't wait to read the next book written by Jessica Verday.

I think I've grown out of these types of books. It's not an age thing either, I just don't enjoy the fantasy, angels and demons, vampire and witch, YA romance genre anymore. I find that plot is usually forsaken for rushed romance that doesn't need to be there.

This book was the same. It could have been quite good, but it was so short and so rushed that I got nothing out of it. I didn't specifically realize it was a spinoff, but I don't think it made much of a difference. I felt like I don't really know the characters any better by the end of things and the story felt like 75% was slow buildup to 2 chapters of climax before everything was just neatly resolved.

Yeah...I think I've grown out of this genre. But that's on me, not the author.

Not a bad book. Stupid me just didn't realize that it is a companion book to "The Hollow" series that Verday wrote.

This book was exactly what I needed. Fast, easy to read and good.

It was a little cheesy, but less cheesyness then I thought that it was going to be. It was short and sweet.

I also enjoyed the ending. I thought that it was the perfect ending for the novel. It wasn't wrapped up in a pretty bow, but you know enough to know where the characters are going. So, you can make up your own ending and everyone is happy.

A very quick and easy read. I enjoyed it, and it was exactly what I was looking for. I may actually revisit "The Hollow" series now. I tried to read them before, but they were long and I just wasn't interested. Maybe now I will be!
