This was my first re-read in ages. I enjoyed it, especially Mary Jane Wells' performance of Rhys' Welsh accent. The story was interesting and the spice was spicing!

I think I liked this even better than book one of this series. Some of the historic and cultural details are anachronistic so I’m not giving higher stars. Still i could see myself recommending this and rereading it.

This was a fun read. I took awhile to get through it but it was fun and sweet. The conflict wasn’t drawn out and both mc’s were likable both alone and together. I loved Helen’s quiet spirit and how loyal she was to those around her.

i liked the plot of this book, as well as the twist about helen, but it was a little slow, and the middle kind of dragged on imo + the spice in this wasn’t my favorite of kleypas’
