I won't go into the synopsis because it has already been done many times here. I will, however, give a brief review.
I loved the excitement in thsi book. Though there were certain parts that were a little slow, they were necessary for the huge climax that came near teh end of the book.

Dekker did a wonderful job tying together all of the book he's written in this series so far, including the Paradise novels and the Lost Books of History. Someone mentioned that Lunatic and Elyon aren't connected at all to this novel, but I beg to differ. The last two books of The Lost Books series explain how the books of history ended up where they did. They also talk alot about how the Horde ended up being in charge of Middle Forest. In my opinion, all six of the books of history should be read before Green.

I also don't feel you could read Green before reading Black, Red, and White or even the Paradise novels even thought this book does effectively begin and end the Circle series. It should be read at the end of everything as somewhat of a prequel that ties up loose ends. There are a couple of things I still felt weren't fully developed, but all in all, I loved this book and couldn't put it down. I read it at every spare moment I had. It is a necessary book to read if you've read ALL of the rest of the novels in this epic series.

Finally finished this one! (Not that it's boring, I read it in spanish and that takes a little longer...). Love this series, but I have to say i was confused really by the end of this book. I was hoping for a final that left you satisfied, but this wasn't it. I guess that's what you get when it says the "beginning and the end". I don't know if I missed something due to the spanish (i am a fairly fluent spanish speaker) but I just don't understand the ending at all (I don't want to spoil it for you so that's all I'll say). I also was a little confused at the lack of emotion/discussion of the daughter of one of the main character's turning out to be the a priestess of the devil. Good story line, and more of the good and evil personified of the series, but the ending really ruined it for me... This book in the series (I believe it's said by the author that you can read it either at the beginning or end of the series- I read it as the 4th book) eventually gives the explanation of how Thomas ends up in the situation he ends up in, but really is the story of the apocolypse and the end days. I love Ted Dekker's books but... hmmm. Maybe I'll have to re-read in English and see if it makes more sense. Definitely would still recommend this one, just be prepared that it might be unsettling at the end!

While I enjoyed Green overall, I was disappointed by the ending.
The idea of Thomas being trapped in an eternal cycle of realities feels unsatisfying, especially considering his sacrifices. It's a bittersweet conclusion that may leave some readers feeling conflicted.

Each time I read a Ted Dekker book I am amazed anew. This book does complete the circle and immediately after finishing it I wanted to start all over again. I was trying to describe the book to my husband and couldn't even come up with the genre. Fiction, definitely, Christian, yes. I've read that some classify it as thriller, sci-fi or fantasy? All of the above. Regardless, a tremendous book!

This book was as good as the other three, equally as heavy in Christian allegory, but very good nonetheless. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys fantasty and adventure.

As much as I enjoyed the story I did NOT like the ending, nor did I care much for the new person they had reading.
