Belinda and Griffin are drawn into a relationship when they become co-parents to their twin nieces. (Belinda’s sister and Griffin’s brother were married.) This was a pretty realistic romance and I enjoyed the verbal sparring between Belinda (a teacher in a rough public school who doesn’t take any shit) and Griffin (a tough-talking sports lawyer who has always wanted a family). They try to fight their attraction due to the misperceptions they have always had about each other, but in the end, sparks fly and they get their happily ever after. There are some sexy times, but not, like, on every page.

The first in a series surrounding the Eaton family, who have for generations been educators. In this one, Brenda Eaton, a history teacher in a tough Philadelphia high school is forced to share custody of her twin nieces (her goddaughters) with their godfather, attorney Griffin Rice, after her sister and her husband die in an accident. The pair, who have always disliked each other, are forced to put their differences aside for the well-being of the girls. Great story, well written plot.

3.5 Stars! I really enjoyed this book other than some borderline questionable consent bits and some odd ways of resolving grief and talking about the twins’ parents, but I thought this was fabulous overall, if you aren’t susceptible to certain triggers.
The premise of this enemies to lovers romance is that Belinda and Griffin are maternal aunt and paternal a uncle to fraternal twin girls who lose their parents suddenly in a car crash. As the godparents and the appointed guardians by their parents, Belinda and Griffin have joint custody of the girls and have to overcome their differences to ensure they’re good co-guardians to their nieces.
I really enjoyed how Belinda and Griffin begin to develop a bond. I loved the interaction with the kids and the family relationships. I didn’t even realize this was a series about siblings but I’m quite excited to have found this wonderful series on Audible Escape. The audio performance was great and the narrator had a wonderful voice- she just had quite a few words she mispronounced but I enjoyed her performance, she did a good job. This was a really entertaining book by a new to me author.

It was ok, romance isn't my favorite but by the time the trite language began, the story was done. I do enjoy Rochelle Alers writing, the story and details were lovely.
