This was a really solid mystery. I didn't see the conclusion coming and it was a really gradual natural uncovering of the facts. Had gorgeous small town mystery vibes.

It was ok. Definitely not a stay-up-all-night-gotta-find-out-what-happened book, but I didn't see the twist so that was good. I might pick up another of Miranda's books at some point but I'm sure not rushing out to get any of them.

This book was good mostly. However there were a few things that annoyed me that may not be an issue for other readers. It was excellent at misdirecting, I kept changing who I thought was guilt so that was very well done. However in the process of cultivating the misdirection the author turned the lead character, Avery Greer into a person I couldn’t have cared less about. Instead of her being a concerned grief stricken friend that I wanted to find the truth. She came across as a love sick puppy who’s feelings weren’t returned. The author did this to set up a plausible guilt scenario, as she did with all the major characters. However it didn’t work for me. I got very annoyed with the “poor Sadie was so wonderful and should be worshiped how could this happen”. The first half of the book read more as a diary of an obsessed women, the story didn’t really begin to unfold in any meaningful way until the second half. Though I did enjoy how the story ultimately played out, I wish it had been better done.

It was a fun read but I had some problems with it. The characters nor the town were well developed. I also found some gramatical errors that hindered my reading.
Also I kept feeling that the evidence found to solve the mystery was not strong enough to stand on its own. I kept saying you need more to prove your point.
